THE CHALLENGE: An Indian man, born in Mumbai to a lower middle-class family, had moved to London and worked his way up the corporate ladder. He was recieving coaching to help him discover and pursue future career trajectories.
THE SOLUTION: Choosing economics as his preferred lens. He said the lens represented the financial security that having a successful career brought to him. His second chosen lens was family/community as he was reminded of how this financial security enabled him to financially help not only his immediate family, but also his extended family. In the centre he described himself as a person committed to his career for the greater good – beyond self, beyond family and beyond countries.
THE RESULTS: This work enabled him to accept his original motivations of striving to earn lots of money. He was also able to acknowledge the multiplier effect his success was having and the prospect of even more to come.
